The winning consortium

In line with the Port of Marseille Fos’ clear desire to give a new impetus to Halle J1 – a prestigious building covering almost 25,500 m² - an international call for projects was launched in June 2017.
At the end of the 18-months process, the consortium made up of ADIM Provence, VINCI Construction France, associated with the Banque des Territoires du Groupe Caisse des Dépôts and architects Reichen & Robert & Associés (Paris) [who have gained an international reputation in the field of regeneration/ remodeling of big industrial buildings] was named winner with the project entitled (J1) La passerelle.

The Project : From the J1 to La Passerelle

The winning project is characterized by:

- A simple architectural approach that respects the aesthetics of the building with the intention of preserving the visual transparency through to the maritime expanse and the landscape beyond.

- A strong urban architecture : the winning consortium has made the ambitious decision not to build on the waterfront esplanade, but rather to establish within the building an enormous open lobby, and an exotic garden, thus strengthening the ties between the city and the port, and creating a space open for the entire Marseille population.

A multi-faceted programming that has stricken the right balance between economy and leisure.

- The quality and reliability of partners.
